Bay Excitement

Today I was determined to see an amazing beauty during my time fishing. I spent extra funds at the bait shop to make sure this was going to be a reality.

I got minnows and artificial bait and bait to catch bait and …..

I spent 3-4 hours fishing this afternoon. I caught a few more bait fish, but nothing overly exciting.

The guy at the bait store told me to should try a little night fishing. After taking a break for a few hours I decided to go back out on the dock and light up the water.

The water was completely calm. I had a single light to one side of the dock. I realized the aerator on my live bucket was dead so I changed the batteries and realized the majority of the live bait I bought was not doing great. I fished with them and changed out the batteries to see if it would help.

Shannon came down and ask me to not be too late around 10:00 and I assured her I would not be too long … but those are fisherman promises :)

I caught a live croaker on my Zebco 33 and put it on my larger rod as live bait. After about 30 minutes I was getting ready to go inside. I put everything else away. As I was reeling in my last rod I noticed an object floating in the water. I thought I had pulled in something with my line.

That was not the case. It was a 4-5 foot large reptile. It was as an amazing, unexpected experience .
