Instrument

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

As I read this passage an image of stringed orchestra comes to mind. Hearing each violin and cello playing individually is an amazing experience. But once you have them all playing in harmony together it takes that experience to a new level of joy... well at least for me.

On the other side of that if one instrument is playing out of tone or a completely different song, well the response brings up emotions that are far from joy.

Imagine how God "listens" to our symphony, as our hearts and actions are tuned to him, but our minds are filled with the music of lust, pride and hatred.

What a terrible thing to "hear".

Are your instruments "playing" righteousness today?
