What is in a name?
In Genesis 35, God gave Jacob a new name, Israel. God made Israel a nation. God used that nation to come to earth in human form and live as we are meant to live. Love as we are meant to love. And forgive as we are meant to forgive.
God has been showing me a different way to see the stories in scripture. To view each as a starting point that points to a savior. Though I am fascinated by the changing of a name, it all points to my savior.
As Thanksgiving and Christmas make their way to us. Let's remember to be thankful that our God came to live among us in flesh, but he has always been here with us.
